ਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਮਰਤਾ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਡਰਿਆ ॥
nā ōh maratā nā ham dariā .
He does not die, so I do not fear.
ਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਕੜਿਆ ॥
nā ōh binasai nā ham kariā .
He does not perish, so I do not grieve.
ਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਭੂਖੇ ॥
nā ōh niradhan nā ham bhūkhē .
He is not poor, so I do not hunger.
ਨਾ ਓਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਦੂਖੇ ॥੧॥
nā ōs dūkh n ham kau dūkhē .1.
He is not in pain, so I do not suffer. ||1||
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਮਾਰਨਵਾਰਾ ॥
avar n kōū māranavārā .
There is no other Destroyer than Him.
ਜੀਅਉ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਦੇਨਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jīau hamārā jīu dēnahārā .1. rahāu .
He is my very life, the Giver of life. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਬੰਧਨ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਬਾਧੇ ॥
nā us bandhan nā ham bādhē .
He is not bound, so I am not in bondage.
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਧੰਧਾ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਧਾਧੇ ॥
nā us dhandhā nā ham dhādhē .
He has no occupation, so I have no entanglements.
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਮੈਲਾ ॥
nā us mail n ham kau mailā .
He has no impurities, so I have no impurities.
ਓਸੁ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਤ ਹਮ ਸਦ ਕੇਲਾ ॥੨॥
ōs anand t ham sad kēlā .2.
He is in ecstasy, so I am always happy. ||2||
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਸੋਚੁ ਨ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਸੋਚਾ ॥
nā us sōch n ham kau sōchā .
He has no anxiety, so I have no cares.
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਪੋਚਾ ॥
nā us lēp n ham kau pōchā .
He has no stain, so I have no pollution.
ਨਾ ਉਸੁ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ॥
nā us bhūkh n ham kau trisanā .
He has no hunger, so I have no thirst.
ਜਾ ਉਹੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਤਾਂ ਹਮ ਜਚਨਾ ॥੩॥
jā uh niramal tānh ham jachanā .3.
Since He is immaculately pure, I correspond to Him. ||3||
ਹਮ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਏਕੈ ਓਹੀ ॥
ham kish nāhī ēkai ōhī .
I am nothing; He is the One and only.
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ॥
āgai pāshai ēkō sōī .
Before and after, He alone exists.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਏ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੰਗਾ ॥
nānak gur khōē bhram bhangā .
O Nanak, the Guru has taken away my doubts and mistakes;
ਹਮ ਓਇ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੋਏ ਇਕ ਰੰਗਾ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੮੩॥
ham ōi mil hōē ik rangā .4.32.83.
He and I, joining together, are of the same color. ||4||32||83||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
anik bhānht kar sēvā karīai .
Serve Him in many different ways;
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੀਐ ॥
jīu prān dhan āgai dharīai .
Dedicate your soul, your breath of life and your wealth to Him.
ਪਾਨੀ ਪਖਾ ਕਰਉ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
pānī pakhā karau taj abhimān .
Carry water for Him, and wave the fan over Him - renounce your ego.
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
anik bār jāīai kurabān .1.
Make yourself a sacrifice to Him, time and time again. ||1||
ਸਾਈ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ॥
sāī suhāgan jō prabh bhāī .
She alone is the happy soul-bride, who is pleasing to God.
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tis kai sang milau mērī māī .1. rahāu .
In her company, I may meet Him, O my mother. ||1||Pause||
ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੀ ਕੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
dāsan dāsī kī panihār .
I am the water-carrier of the slaves of His slaves.
ਉਨ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਬਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
unh kī rēn basai jī nāl .
I treasure in my soul the dust of their feet.
ਮਾਥੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਤ ਪਾਵਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
māthai bhāg t pāvau sang .
By that good destiny inscribed upon my forehead, I obtain their society.
ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
milai suāmī apunai rang .2.
Through His Love, the Lord Master meets me. ||2||
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਦੇਵਉ ਸਭ ਨੇਮਾ ॥
jāp tāp dēvau sabh nēmā .
I dedicate all to Him - chanting and meditation, austerity and religious observances.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਅਰਪਉ ਸਭ ਹੋਮਾ ॥
karam dharam arapau sabh hōmā .
I offer all to Him - good actions, righteous conduct and incense burning.
ਗਰਬੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਹੋਵਉ ਰੇਨ ॥
garab mōh taj hōvau rēn .
Renouncing pride and attachment, I become the dust of the feet of the Saints.
ਉਨ੍ਹ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੈਨ ॥੩॥
unh kai sang dēkhau prabh nain .3.
In their society, I behold God with my eyes. ||3||
ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਏਹੀ ਆਰਾਧਉ ॥
nimakh nimakh ēhī ārādhau .
Each and every moment, I contemplate and adore Him.
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧਉ ॥
dinas rain ēh sēvā sādhau .
Day and night, I serve Him like this.
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
bhaē kripāl gupāl gōbind .
The Lord of the Universe, the Cherisher of the World, has become merciful;
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੮੪॥
sādhasang nānak bakhasind .4.33.84.
in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, He forgives us. ||4||33||84||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
prabh kī prīt sadā sukh hōi .
In the Love of God, eternal peace is obtained.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
prabh kī prīt dukh lagai n kōi .
In the Love of God, one is not touched by pain.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਖੋਇ ॥
prabh kī prīt haumai mal khōi .
In the Love of God, the filth of ego is washed away.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
prabh kī prīt sad niramal hōi .1.
In the Love of God, one becomes forever immaculate. ||1||
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੀਤ ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
sunah mīt aisā prēm piār .
Listen, O friend: show such love and affection to God,
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jī prān ghat ghat ādhār .1. rahāu .
the Support of the soul, the breath of life, of each and every heart. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
prabh kī prīt bhaē sagal nidhān .
In the Love of God, all treasures are obtained.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮ ॥
prabh kī prīt ridai niramal nām .
In the Love of God, the Immaculate Naam fills the heart.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤ ॥
prabh kī prīt sad sōbhāvant .
In the Love of God, one is eternally embellished.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਭ ਮਿਟੀ ਹੈ ਚਿੰਤ ॥੨॥
prabh kī prīt sabh mitī hai chint .2.
In the Love of God, all anxiety is ended. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਇਹੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰੈ ॥
prabh kī prīt ih bhavajal tarai .
In the Love of God, one crosses over this terrible world-ocean.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਡਰੈ ॥
prabh kī prīt jam tē nahī darai .
In the Love of God, one does not fear death.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੈ ॥
prabh kī prīt sagal udhārai .
In the Love of God, all are saved.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚਲੈ ਸੰਗਾਰੈ ॥੩॥
prabh kī prīt chalai sangārai .3.
The Love of God shall go along with you. ||3||
ਆਪਹੁ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਭੂਲੈ ॥
āpah kōī milai n bhūlai .
By himself, no one is united, and no one goes astray.
ਜਿਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਘੂਲੈ ॥
jis kripāl tis sādhasang ghūlai .
One who is blessed by God's Mercy, joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥
kah nānak tērai kurabān .
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to You.
ਸੰਤ ਓਟ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੮੫॥
sant ōt prabh tērā tān .4.34.85.
O God, You are the Support and the Strength of the Saints. ||4||34||85||

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
bhūpat hōi kai rāj kamāiā .
Becoming a king, the mortal wields his royal authority;
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਅਨਰਥ ਵਿਹਾਝੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
kar kar anarath vihājhī māiā .
oppressing the people, he gathers wealth.
