ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਨਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
sravanī kīratan sunau din rātī hiradai har har bhānī .3.
With my ears, I listen to the Kirtan of His Praises, day and night. I love the Lord, Har, Har, with all my heart. ||3||
ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਣੇ ਤਉ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ॥
panch janā gur vasagat ānē tau unaman nām lagānī .
When the Guru helped me to overcome the five thieves, then I found ultimate bliss, attached to the Naam.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੫॥
jan nānak har kirapā dhārī har rāmai nām samānī .4.5.
The Lord has showered His Mercy on servant Nanak; he merges in the Lord, in the Name of the Lord. ||4||5||

Saarang, Fourth Mehl:
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੜ੍ਹੁ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
jap man rām nām parh sār .
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, and study His Excellence.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rām nām bin thir nahī kōī hōr nihaphal sabh bisathār .1. rahāu .
Without the Lord's Name, nothing is steady or stable. All the rest of the show is useless. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਆ ਲੀਜੈ ਕਿਆ ਤਜੀਐ ਬਉਰੇ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਛਾਰੁ ॥
kiā lījai kiā tajīai baurē jō dīsai sō shār .
What is there to accept, and what is there to reject, O madman? Whatever is seen shall turn to dust.
ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਸਾ ਛਾਡਿ ਜਾਹੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
jis bikhiā kau tumh apunī kar jānah sā shād jāh sir bhār .1.
That poison which you believe to be your own - you must abandon it and leave it behind. What a load you have to carry on your head! ||1||
ਤਿਲੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਪਲੁ ਪਲੁ ਅਉਧ ਫੁਨਿ ਘਾਟੈ ਬੂਝਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਗਵਾਰੁ ॥
til til pal pal audh phun ghātai būjh n sakai gavār .
Moment by moment, instant by instant, your life is running out. The fool cannot understand this.
ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਜਿ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਇਹੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਕਾ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
sō kish karai j sāth n chālai ih sākat kā āchār .2.
He does things which will not go along with him in the end. This is the lifestyle of the faithless cynic. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਤਉ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
sant janā kai sang mil baurē tau pāvah mōkh duār .
So join together with the humble Saints, O madman, and you shall find the Gate of Salvation.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
bin satasang sukh kinai n pāiā jāi pūshah bēd bīchār .3.
Without the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, no one finds any peace. Go and ask the scholars of the Vedas. ||3||
ਰਾਣਾ ਰਾਉ ਸਭੈ ਕੋਊ ਚਾਲੈ ਝੂਠੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਸਾਰੁ ॥
rānā rāu sabhai kōū chālai jhūth shōd jāi pāsār .
All the kings and queens shall depart; they must leave this false expanse.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੬॥
nānak sant sadā thir nihachal jin rām nām ādhār .4.6.
O Nanak, the Saints are eternally steady and stable; they take the Support of the Name of the Lord. ||4||6||

ਕਾਹੇ ਪੂਤ ਝਗਰਤ ਹਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਾਪ ॥
kāhē pūt jhagarat hau sang bāp .
O son, why do you argue with your father?
ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਣੇ ਬਡੀਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਝਗਰਤ ਪਾਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin kē janē badīrē tum hau tin siu jhagarat pāp .1. rahāu .
It is a sin to argue with the one who fathered you and raised you. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸੁ ਧਨ ਕਾ ਤੁਮ ਗਰਬੁ ਕਰਤ ਹਉ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਆਪ ॥
jis dhan kā tum garab karat hau sō dhan kisah n āp .
That wealth, which you are so proud of - that wealth does not belong to anyone.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਇ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸੁ ਤਉ ਲਾਗੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਪ ॥੧॥
khin mah shōd jāi bikhiā ras tau lāgai pashutāp .1.
In an instant, you shall have to leave behind all your corrupt pleasures; you shall be left to regret and repent. ||1||
ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਪਹੁ ਜਾਪ ॥
jō tumarē prabh hōtē suāmī har tin kē jāpah jāp .
He is God, your Lord and Master - chant the Chant of that Lord.
ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਤੁਮ ਕਉ ਜਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤਉ ਜਾਇ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥
upadēs karat nānak jan tum kau jau sunah tau jāi santāp .2.1.7.
Servant Nanak spreads the Teachings; if you listen to it, you shall be rid of your pain. ||2||1||7||

jap man jagannāth jagadīsarō jagajīvanō manamōhan siu prīt lāgī mai har har har tēk sabh dinas sabh rāt .1. rahāu .
O my mind, meditate on the Lord of the World, the Master of the Universe, the Life of the World, the Enticer of the mind; fall in love with Him. I take the Support of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, all day and all night. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਕ ਨਾਰਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ਤਵ ਗੁਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਨਿਨ ਨ ਜਾਤਿ ॥
har kī upamā anik anik anik gun gāvat suk nārad brahamādik tav gun suāmī ganin n jāt .
Endless, endless, endless are the Praises of the Lord. Suk Dayv, Naarad and the gods like Brahma sing His Glorious Praises. Your Glorious Virtues, O my Lord and Master, cannot even be counted.
ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਆਪਨੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ॥੧॥
tū har bēant tū har bēant tū har suāmī tū āpē hī jānah āpanī bhānht .1.
O Lord, You are Infinite, O Lord, You are Infinite, O Lord, You are my Lord and Master; only You Yourself know Your Own Ways. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਕਟ ਹੀ ਬਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਾਤ ॥
har kai nikat nikat har nikat hī basatē tē har kē jan sādhū har bhagāt .
Those who are near, near to the Lord - those who dwell near the Lord - those humble servants of the Lord are the Holy, the devotees of the Lord.
ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਲਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਮਿਲਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੧॥੮॥
tē har kē jan har siu ral milē jaisē jan nānak salalai salal milāt .2.1.8.
Those humble servants of the Lord merge with their Lord, O Nanak, like water merging with water. ||2||1||8||
