ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
ghat ghat vas rahiā jagajīvan dātā .
He dwells in each and every heart, the Great Giver, the Life of the world.
ਇਕ ਥੈ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
ik thai gupat paragat hai āpē guramukh bhram bhau jāī hē .15.
At the same time, He is both hidden and revealed. For the Gurmukh, doubt and fear are dispelled. ||15||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
guramukh har jīu ēkō jātā .
The Gurmukh knows the One, the Dear Lord.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
antar nām sabad pashātā .
Deep within the nucleus of his inner being, is the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he realizes the Word of the Shabad.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੪॥
jis tū dēh sōī jan pāē nānak nām vadāī hē .16.4.
He alone receives it, unto whom You give it. O Nanak, the Naam is glorious greatness. ||16||4||

Maaroo, Third Mehl:
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੈ ॥
sach sālāhī gahir ganbhīrai .
I praise the true, profound and unfathomable Lord.
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੈ ਚੀਰੈ ॥
sabh jag hai tis hī kai chīrai .
All the world is in His power.
ਸਭਿ ਘਟ ਭੋਗਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
sabh ghat bhōgavai sadā din rātī āpē sūkh nivāsī hē .1.
He enjoys all hearts forever, day and night; He Himself dwells in peace. ||1||
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ॥
sachā sāhib sachī nāī .
True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
gur parasādī mann vasāī .
By Guru's Grace, I enshrine Him in my mind.
ਆਪੇ ਆਇ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
āpē āi vasiā ghat antar tūtī jam kī phāsī hē .2.
He Himself has come to dwell deep within the nucleus of my heart; the noose of death has been snapped. ||2||
ਕਿਸੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਤੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
kis sēvī tai kis sālāhī .
Whom should I serve, and whom should I praise?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
satigur sēvī sabad sālāhī .
I serve the True Guru, and praise the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
sachai sabad sadā mat ūtam antar kamal pragāsī hē .3.
Through the True Shabad, the intellect is exalted and ennobled forever, and the lotus deep within blossoms forth. ||3||
ਦੇਹੀ ਕਾਚੀ ਕਾਗਦ ਮਿਕਦਾਰਾ ॥
dēhī kāchī kāgad mikadārā .
The body is frail and perishable, like paper.
ਬੂੰਦ ਪਵੈ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਢਹਤ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਬਾਰਾ ॥
būnd pavai binasai dhahat n lāgai bārā .
When the drop of water falls upon it, it crumbles and dissolves instantaneously.
ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
kanchan kāiā guramukh būjhai jis antar nām nivāsī hē .4.
But the body of the Gurmukh, who understands, is like gold; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells deep within. ||4||
ਸਚਾ ਚਉਕਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਾ ॥
sachā chaukā surat kī kārā .
Pure is that kitchen, which is enclosed by spiritual awareness.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥
har nām bhōjan sach ādhārā .
The Lord's Name is my food, and Truth is my support.
ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
sadā tripat pavitr hai pāvan jit ghat har nām nivāsī hē .5.
Forever satisfied, sanctified and pure is that person, within whose heart the Lord's Name abides. ||5||
ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
hau tin balihārī jō sāchai lāgē .
I am a sacrifice to those who are attached to the Truth.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
har gun gāvah anadin jāgē .
They sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and remain awake and aware night and day.
ਸਾਚਾ ਸੂਖੁ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
sāchā sūkh sadā tin antar rasanā har ras rāsī hē .6.
True peace fills them forever, and their tongues savor the sublime essence of the Lord. ||6||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
har nām chētā avar n pūjā .
I remember the Lord's Name, and no other at all.
ਏਕੋ ਸੇਵੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
ēkō sēvī avar n dūjā .
I serve the One Lord, and no other at all.
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
pūrai gur sabh sach dikhāiā sachai nām nivāsī hē .7.
The Perfect Guru has revealed the whole Truth to me; I dwell in the True Name. ||7||
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
bhram bhram jōnī phir phir āiā .
Wandering, wandering in reincarnation, again and again, he comes into the world.
ਆਪਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਾ ਖਸਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
āp bhūlā jā khasam bhulāiā .
He is deluded and confused, when the Lord and Master confuses him.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਚੀਨੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
har jīu milai tā guramukh būjhai chīnai sabad abināsī hē .8.
He meets with the Dear Lord, when, as Gurmukh, he understands; he remembers the Shabad, the Word of the immortal, eternal Lord God. ||8||
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਭਰੇ ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ॥
kām krōdh bharē ham aparādhī .
I am a sinner, overflowing with sexual desire and anger.
ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਲੈ ਬੋਲਹ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਗੁਣ ਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧੀ ॥
kiā muh lai bōlah nā ham gun n sēvā sādhī .
With what mouth should I speak? I have no virtue, and I have rendered no service.
ਡੁਬਦੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
dubadē pāthar mēl laih tum āpē sāch nām abināsī hē .9.
I am a sinking stone; please, Lord, unite me with Yourself. Your Name is eternal and imperishable. ||9||
ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗਾ ॥
nā kōī karē n karanai jōgā .
No one does anything; no one is able to do anything.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਗਾ ॥
āpē karah karāvah s hōigā .
That alone happens, which the Lord Himself does, and causes to be done.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
āpē bakhas laih sukh pāē sad hī nām nivāsī hē .10.
Those whom He Himself forgives, find peace; they dwell forever in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||10||
ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਜਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
ih tan dharatī sabad bīj apārā .
This body is the earth, and the infinite Shabad is the seed.
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਵਣਜੁ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥
har sāchē sētī vanaj vāpārā .
Deal and trade with the True Name alone.
ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
sach dhan janmiā tōt n āvai antar nām nivāsī hē .11.
The True wealth increases; it is never exhausted, when the Naam dwells deep within. ||11||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਅਵਗਣਿਆਰੇ ਨੋ ਗੁਣੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
har jīu avaganiārē nō gun kījai .
O Dear Lord, please bless me, the worthless sinner, with virtue.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
āpē bakhas laih nām dījai .
Forgive me, and bless me with Your Name.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਇਕਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
guramukh hōvai sō pat pāē ikat nām nivāsī hē .12.
One who becomes Gurmukh, is honored; he dwells in the Name of the One Lord alone. ||12||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਮਝ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
antar har dhan samajh n hōī .
The wealth of the Lord is deep within one's inner being, but he does not realize it.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
gur parasādī būjhai kōī .
By Guru's Grace, one comes to understand.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
guramukh hōvai sō dhan pāē sad hī nām nivāsī hē .13.
One who becomes Gurmukh is blessed with this wealth; he lives forever in the Naam. ||13||
ਅਨਲ ਵਾਉ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥
anal vāu bharam bhulāī .
Fire and wind lead him into delusions of doubt.
