ਜੋ ਜੋ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
jō jō pīvai sō tripatāvai .
Whoever drinks this in, is satisfied.
ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
amar hōvai jō nām ras pāvai .
Whoever obtains the Sublime Essence of the Naam becomes immortal.
ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
nām nidhān tisah parāpat jis sabad gurū man vūthā jīu .2.
The Treasure of the Naam is obtained by one whose mind is filled with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨਾ ॥
jin har ras pāiā sō tripat aghānā .
One who obtains the Sublime Essence of the Lord is satisfied and fulfilled.
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਨਾਹਿ ਡੁਲਾਨਾ ॥
jin har sād pāiā sō nāh dulānā .
One who obtains this Flavor of the Lord does not waver.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tisah parāpat har har nāmā jis masatak bhāgīthā jīu .3.
One who has this destiny written on his forehead obtains the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਆਇਆ ਵਰਸਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥
har ikas hath āiā varasānē bahutērē .
The Lord has come into the hands of the One, the Guru, who has blessed so many with good fortune.
ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਘਣੇਰੇ ॥
tis lag mukat bhaē ghanērē .
Attached to Him, a great many have been liberated.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੨॥
nām nidhānā guramukh pāīai kah nānak viralī dīthā jīu .4.15.22.
The Gurmukh obtains the Treasure of the Naam; says Nanak, those who see the Lord are very rare. ||4||15||22||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥
nidh sidh ridh har har har mērai .
My Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the nine treasures, the supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas, wealth and prosperity.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੈ ॥
janam padārath gahir ganbhīrai .
He is the Deep and Profound Treasure of Life.
ਲਾਖ ਕੋਟ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਰੰਗ ਰਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
lākh kōt khusīā rang rāvai jō gur lāgā pāī jīu .1.
Hundreds of thousands, even millions of pleasures and delights are enjoyed by one who falls at the Guru's Feet. ||1||
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
darasan pēkhat bhaē punītā .
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all are sanctified,
ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
sagal udhārē bhāī mītā .
and all family and friends are saved.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
agam agōchar suāmī apunā gur kirapā tē sach dhiāī jīu .2.
By Guru's Grace, I meditate on the Inaccessible and Unfathomable True Lord. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਉਪਾਏ ॥ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
jā kau khōjah sarab upāē . vadabhāgī darasan kō viralā pāē .
The One, the Guru, who is sought by all-only a few, by great good fortune, receive His Darshan.
ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਥਾਨਾ ਓਹੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇਖਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
ūch apār agōchar thānā ōh mahal gurū dēkhāī jīu .3.
His Place is lofty, infinite and unfathomable; the Guru has shown me that palace. ||3||
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
gahir ganbhīr anmrit nām tērā .
Your Ambrosial Name is deep and profound.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਰਾ ॥
mukat bhaiā jis ridai vasērā .
That person is liberated, in whose heart You dwell.
ਗੁਰਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੩॥
gur bandhan tin kē sagalē kātē jan nānak sahaj samāī jīu .4.16.23.
The Guru cuts away all his bonds; O Servant Nanak, he is absorbed in the poise of intuitive peace. ||4||16||23||

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
prabh kirapā tē har har dhiāvau .
By God's Grace, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
prabhū daiā tē mangal gāvau .
By God's Kindness, I sing the songs of joy.
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਗਲ ਅਵਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
ūthat baithat sōvat jāgat har dhiāīai sagal avaradā jīu .1.
While standing and sitting, while sleeping and while awake, meditate on the Lord, all your life. ||1||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀਆ ॥
nām aukhadh mō kau sādhū dīā .
The Holy Saint has given me the Medicine of the Naam.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
kilabikh kātē niramal thīā .
My sins have been cut out, and I have become pure.
ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਸਭ ਪੀਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਦਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
anad bhaiā nikasī sabh pīrā sagal bināsē daradā jīu .2.
I am filled with bliss, and all my pains have been taken away. All my suffering has been dispelled. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
jis kā ang karē mērā piārā . sō mukatā sāgar sansārā .
One who has my Beloved on his side, is liberated from the world-ocean.
ਸਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਡਰਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sat karē jin gurū pashātā sō kāhē kau daradā jīu .3.
One who recognizes the Guru practices Truth; why should he be afraid? ||3||
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਉ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਏ ॥
jab tē sādhū sangat pāē . gur bhētat hau gaī balāē .
Since I found the Company of the Holy and met the Guru, the demon of pride has departed.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਢਾਕਿ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੨੪॥
sās sās har gāvai nānak satigur dhāk līā mērā paradā jīu .4.17.24.
With each and every breath, Nanak sings the Lord's Praises. The True Guru has covered my sins. ||4||17||24||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
ōt pōt sēvak sang rātā .
Through and through, the Lord is intermingled with His servant.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
prabh pratipālē sēvak sukhadātā .
God, the Giver of Peace, cherishes His servant.
ਪਾਣੀ ਪਖਾ ਪੀਸਉ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਕਾ ਆਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
pānī pakhā pīsau sēvak kai thākur hī kā āhar jīu .1.
I carry the water, wave the fan, and grind the grain for the servant of my Lord and Master. ||1||
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
kāt silak prabh sēvā lāiā .
God has cut the noose from around my neck; He has placed me in His Service.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
hukam sāhib kā sēvak man bhāiā .
The Lord and Master's Command is pleasing to the mind of His servant.
ਸੋਈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
sōī kamāvai jō sāhib bhāvai sēvak antar bāhar māhar jīu .2.
He does that which pleases his Lord and Master. Inwardly and outwardly, the servant knows his Lord. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਦਾਨਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨਹਿ ॥
tūn dānā thākur sabh bidh jānah .
You are the All-knowing Lord and Master; You know all ways and means.
