ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਗਉੜੀ ॥

ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
kiā jap kiā tap kiā brat pūjā .
What use is chanting, and what use is penance, fasting or devotional worship,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਾਉ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥
jā kai ridai bhāu hai dūjā .1.
to one whose heart is filled with the love of duality? ||1||
ਰੇ ਜਨ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਧਉ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
rē jan man mādhau siu lāīai .
O humble people, link your mind to the Lord.
ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਨ ਚਤੁਰਭੁਜੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chaturāī n chaturabhuj pāīai . rahāu .
Through cleverness, the four-armed Lord is not obtained. ||Pause||
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰੁ ॥
parahar lōbh ar lōkāchār .
Set aside your greed and worldly ways.
ਪਰਹਰੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
parahar kām krōdh ahankār .2.
Set aside sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||2||
ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਬਧੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ॥
karam karat badhē ahanmēv .
Ritual practices bind people in egotism;
ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਹੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੩॥
mil pāthar kī karahī sēv .3.
meeting together, they worship stones. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kah kabīr bhagat kar pāiā .
Says Kabeer, He is obtained only by devotional worship.
ਭੋਲੇ ਭਾਇ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥
bhōlē bhāi milē raghurāiā .4.6.
Through innocent love, the Lord is met. ||4||6||
