ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਨਹੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
bin dēkhē upajai nahī āsā .
Without seeing something, the yearning for it does not arise.
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥
jō dīsai sō hōi bināsā .
Whatever is seen, shall pass away.
ਬਰਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
baran sahit jō jāpai nām .
Whoever chants and praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord,
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
sō jōgī kēval nihakām .1.
is the true Yogi, free of desire. ||1||
ਪਰਚੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥
parachai rām ravai jau kōī .
When someone utters the Name of the Lord with love,
ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸੈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pāras parasai dubidhā n hōī .1. rahāu .
it is as if he has touched the philosopher's stone; his sense of duality is eradicated. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਖਾਇ ॥
sō mun man kī dubidhā khāi .
He alone is a silent sage, who destroys the duality of his mind.
ਬਿਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
bin duārē trai lōk samāi .
Keeping the doors of his body closed, he merges in the Lord of the three worlds.
ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ॥
man kā subhāu sabh kōī karai .
Everyone acts according to the inclinations of the mind.
ਕਰਤਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਨਭੈ ਰਹੈ ॥੨॥
karatā hōi s anabhai rahai .2.
Attuned to the Creator Lord, one remains free of fear. ||2||
ਫਲ ਕਾਰਨ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
phal kāran phūlī banarāi .
Plants blossom forth to produce fruit.
ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥
phal lāgā tab phūl bilāi .
When the fruit is produced, the flowers wither away.
ਗਿਆਨੈ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਮ ਅਭਿਆਸੁ ॥
giānai kāran karam abhiās .
For the sake of spiritual wisdom, people act and practice rituals.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਹ ਕਰਮਹ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੩॥
giān bhaiā tah karamah nās .3.
When spiritual wisdom wells up, then actions are left behind. ||3||
ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਧਿ ਮਥੈ ਸਇਆਨ ॥
ghrit kāran dadh mathai saiān .
For the sake of ghee, wise people churn milk.
ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਨ ॥
jīvat mukat sadā nirabān .
Those who are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive - are forever in the state of Nirvaanaa.
ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਪਰਮ ਬੈਰਾਗ ॥
kah ravidās param bairāg .
Says Ravi Daas, O you unfortunate people,
ਰਿਦੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਜਪਸਿ ਅਭਾਗ ॥੪॥੧॥
