ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਅਬ ਤਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
pūrab janam ham tumharē sēvak ab tau mitiā n jāī .
In my past life, I was Your servant; now, I cannot leave You.
ਤੇਰੇ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਹਜ ਕੀ ਮਾਥੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
tērē duārai dhun sahaj kī māthai mērē dagāī .2.
The celestial sound current resounds at Your Door. Your insignia is stamped upon my forehead. ||2||
ਦਾਗੇ ਹੋਹਿ ਸੁ ਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਜੂਝਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਾਗੇ ਭਗਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
dāgē hōh s ran mah jūjhah bin dāgē bhag jāī .
Those who are branded with Your brand fight bravely in battle; those without Your brand run away.
ਸਾਧੂ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਏ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
sādhū hōi s bhagat pashānai har laē khajānai pāī .3.
One who becomes a Holy person, appreciates the value of devotional worship to the Lord. The Lord places him in His treasury. ||3||
ਕੋਠਰੇ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਪਰਮ ਕੋਠੀ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
kōtharē mah kōtharī param kōthī bīchār .
In the fortress is the chamber; by contemplative meditation it becomes the supreme chamber.
ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਬਸਤੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਉ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਬਸਤੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰਿ ॥੪॥
gur dīnī basat kabīr kau lēvah basat samhār .4.
The Guru has blessed Kabeer with the commodity, saying, "Take this commodity; cherish it and keep it secure."||4||
ਕਬੀਰਿ ਦੀਈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕਉ ਲੀਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
kabīr dīī sansār kau līnī jis masatak bhāg .
Kabeer gives it to the world, but he alone receives it, upon whose forehead such destiny is recorded.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਥਿਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੫॥੪॥
anmrit ras jin pāiā thir tā kā sōhāg .5.4.
Permanent is the marriage, of one who receives this ambrosial essence. ||5||4||
ਸੰਤਾ ਮਾਨਉ ਦੂਤਾ ਡਾਨਉ ਇਹ ਕੁਟਵਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
santā mānau dūtā dānau ih kutavārī mērī .
I honor and obey the Saints, and punish the wicked; this is my duty as God's police officer.
ਦਿਵਸ ਰੈਨਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਉ ਪਲੋਸਉ ਕੇਸ ਚਵਰ ਕਰਿ ਫੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
divas rain tērē pāu palōsau kēs chavar kar phērī .1.
Day and night, I wash Your feet, Lord; I wave my hair as the chauree, to brush away the flies. ||1||
ਹਮ ਕੂਕਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥
ham kūkar tērē darabār .
I am a dog at Your Court, Lord.
ਭਉਕਹਿ ਆਗੈ ਬਦਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaukah āgai badan pasār .1. rahāu .
I open my snout and bark before it. ||1||Pause||
