Shalok, Fifth Mehl:
ਛਤੜੇ ਬਾਜਾਰ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਪਾਰੀਏ ॥
shatarē bājār sōhan vich vapārīē .
Your streets are covered with canopies; under them, the traders look beautiful.
ਵਖਰੁ ਹਿਕੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਟੇ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ॥੧॥
vakhar hik apār nānak khatē sō dhanī .1.
O Nanak, he alone is truly a banker, who buys the infinite commodity. ||1||

Fifth Mehl:
ਕਬੀਰਾ ਹਮਰਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਸ ਹੂ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
kabīrā hamarā kō nahī ham kis hū kē nāh .
Kabeer, no one is mine, and I belong to no one.
ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
jin ih rachan rachāiā tis hī māh samāh .2.
I am absorbed in the One, who created this creation. ||2||

Pauree:
ਸਫਲਿਉ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਫਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ॥
saphaliu birakh suhāvarā har saphal anmritā .
The Lord is the most beautiful fruit tree, bearing fruits of Ambrosial Nectar.
ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਉਨ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਵੰਞੈ ਘਿਤਾ ॥
man lōchai unh milan kau kiu vanñai ghitā .
My mind longs to meet Him; how can I ever find Him?
ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਜਿਤਾ ॥
varanā chihanā bāharā ōh agam ajitā .
He has no color or form; He is inaccessible and unconquerable.
ਓਹੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੈ ਭਿਤਾ ॥
ōh piārā jī kā jō khōlhai bhitā .
I love Him with all my soul; He opens the door for me.
ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥
sēvā karī tusārīā mai dasih mitā .
I shall serve you forever, if you tell me of my Friend.
ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
kurabānī vanñā vāranai balē bal kitā .
I am a sacrifice, a dedicated, devoted sacrifice to Him.
ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
dasan sant piāriā sunah lāi chitā .
The Beloved Saints tell us, to listen with our consciousness.
ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ॥੧੯॥
jis likhiā nānak dās tis nāu anmrit satigur ditā .19.
One who has such pre-ordained destiny, O slave Nanak, is blessed with the Ambrosial Name by the True Guru. ||19||
