ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ ॥
charan kamal saranāgatī anad mangal gun gām .
In the Sanctuary of His lotus feet, I sing His Glorious Praises in ecstasy and bliss.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਣ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
nānak prabh ārādhīai bipat nivāran rām .1.
O Nanak, worship God in adoration, the Eradicator of misfortune. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਣੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
prabh bipat nivāranō tis bin avar n kōi jīu .
God is the Eradicator of misfortune; there is none other than Him.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sadā sadā har simarīai jal thal mahīal sōi jīu .
Forever and ever, remember the Lord in meditation; He is permeating the water, the land and the sky.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ॥
jal thal mahīal pūr rahiā ik nimakh manah n vīsarai .
He is permeating and pervading the water, the land and the sky; do not forget Him from your mind, even for an instant.
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਗੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਭਾਗੇ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ ॥
gur charan lāgē din sabhāgē sarab gun jagadīsarai .
Blessed was that day, when I grasped the Guru's feet; all virtues rest in the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
kar sēv sēvak dinas rainī tis bhāvai sō hōi jīu .
So serve Him day and night, O servant; whatever pleases Him, happens.
ਬਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੁਖਹ ਦਾਤੇ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
bal jāi nānak sukhah dātē paragās man tan hōi jīu .1.
Nanak is a sacrifice to the Giver of peace; his mind and body are enlightened. ||1||
