ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਤੋਹਿ ॥
nā tan tērā nā man tōh .
Neither your body nor your mind belong to you.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਆ ਧੋਹਿ ॥
māiā mōh biāpiā dhōh .
Attached to Maya, you are entangled in fraud.
ਕੁਦਮ ਕਰੈ ਗਾਡਰ ਜਿਉ ਛੇਲ ॥
kudam karai gādar jiu shēl .
You play like a baby lamb.
ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਚਕ੍ਰੁ ਪੇਲ ॥੧॥
achint jāl kāl chakr pēl .1.
But suddenly, Death will catch you in its noose. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਨਾਇ ਮਨਾ ॥
har charan kamal saranāi manā .
Seek the Sanctuary of the Lord's lotus feet, O my mind.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rām nām jap sang sahāī guramukh pāvah sāch dhanā .1. rahāu .
Chant the Name of the Lord, which will be your help and support. As Gurmukh, you shall obtain the true wealth. ||1||Pause||
ਊਨੇ ਕਾਜ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
ūnē kāj n hōvat pūrē .
Your unfinished worldly affairs will never be resolved.
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਮਦਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਝੂਰੇ ॥
kām krōdh mad sad hī jhūrē .
You shall always regret your sexual desire, anger and pride.
ਕਰੈ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਜੀਅਰੇ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥
karai bikār jīarē kai tāī .
You act in corruption in order to survive,
ਗਾਫਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਤਸੂਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
gāphal sang n tasūā jāī .2.
but not even an iota will go along with you, you ignorant fool! ||2||
ਧਰਤ ਧੋਹ ਅਨਿਕ ਛਲ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
dharat dhōh anik shal jānai .
You practice deception, and you know many tricks;
ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉ ਖਾਕੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਾਨੈ ॥
kaudī kaudī kau khāk sir shānai .
for the sake of mere shells, you throw dust upon your head.
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ਮੂਲਿ ॥
jin dīā tisai n chētai mūl .
You never even think of the One who gave you life.
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਲੋਭੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੂਲੁ ॥੩॥
mithiā lōbh n utarai sūl .3.
The pain of false greed never leaves you. ||3||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
pārabraham jab bhaē daiāl .
When the Supreme Lord God becomes merciful,
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
ih man hōā sādh ravāl .
this mind becomes the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਹਸਤ ਕਮਲ ਲੜਿ ਲੀਨੋ ਲਾਇ ॥
hasat kamal lar līnō lāi .
With His lotus hands, He has attached us to the hem of His robe.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੪੧॥੫੨॥
nānak sāchai sāch samāi .4.41.52.
Nanak merges in the Truest of the True. ||4||41||52||
