Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੋਈ ਮਲੀਨੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਹੀਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਨਾ ॥
sōī malīn dīn hīn jis prabh bisarānā .
One who forgets God is filthy, poor and low.
ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੁ ਨ ਬੂਝਈ ਆਪੁ ਗਨੈ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
karanaihār n būjhaī āp ganai bigānā .1.
The fool does not understand the Creator Lord; instead, he thinks that he himself is the doer. ||1||
ਦੂਖੁ ਤਦੇ ਜਦਿ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
dūkh tadē jad vīsarai sukh prabh chit āē .
Pain comes, when one forgets Him. Peace comes when one remembers God.
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
santan kai ānand ēh nit har gun gāē .1. rahāu .
This is the way the Saints are in bliss - they continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਨੀਚਾ ਕਰੈ ਨੀਚ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪੈ ॥
ūchē tē nīchā karai nīch khin mah thāpai .
The high, He makes low, and the low, he elevates in an instant.
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਰਤਾਪੈ ॥੨॥
kīmat kahī n jāīai thākur paratāpai .2.
The value of the glory of our Lord and Master cannot be estimated. ||2||
ਪੇਖਤ ਲੀਲਾ ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਚਲਨੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
pēkhat līlā rang rūp chalanai din āiā .
While he gazes upon beautiful dramas and plays, the day of his departure dawns.
ਸੁਪਨੇ ਕਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਭਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
supanē kā supanā bhaiā sang chaliā kamāiā .3.
The dream becomes the dream, and his actions do not go along with him. ||3||
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
karan kāran samarath prabh tērī saranāī .
God is All-powerful, the Cause of causes; I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਹਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਪੈ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੫੦॥
har dinas rain nānak japai sad sad bal jāī .4.20.50.
Day and night, Nanak meditates on the Lord; forever and ever he is a sacrifice. ||4||20||50||
