Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੋ ਚਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਡੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
satigur kai bhānai jō chalai tis vadiāī vadī hōi .
One who walks in harmony with the Will of the True Guru, obtains the greatest glory.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਤਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
har kā nām utam man vasai mēt n sakai kōi .
The Exalted Name of the Lord abides in his mind, and no one can take it away.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
kirapā karē jis āpanī tis karam parāpat hōi .
That person, upon whom the Lord bestows His Grace, receives His Mercy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
nānak kāran karatē vas hai guramukh būjhai kōi .1.
O Nanak, creativity is under the control of the Creator; how rare are those who, as Gurmukh, realize this! ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਤਾਰ ॥
nānak har nām jinī ārādhiā anadin har liv tār .
O Nanak, those who worship and adore the Lord's Name night and day, vibrate the String of the Lord's Love.
ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਦੀ ਖਸਮ ਕੀ ਤਿਨ ਅਗੈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕਾਰ ॥
māiā bandī khasam kī tin agai kamāvai kār .
Maya, the maid-servant of our Lord and Master, serves them.
ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥
pūrai pūrā kar shōdiā hukam savāranahār .
The Perfect One has made them perfect; by the Hukam of His Command, they are embellished.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
gur parasādī jin bujhiā tin pāiā mōkh duār .
By Guru's Grace, they understand Him, and they find the gate of salvation.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਜੰਦਾਰੁ ॥
manamukh hukam n jānanī tin mārē jam jandār .
The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Lord's Command; they are beaten down by the Messenger of Death.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਤਰਿਆ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
guramukh jinī arādhiā tinī tariā bhaujal sansār .
But the Gurmukhs, who worship and adore the Lord, cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
ਸਭਿ ਅਉਗਣ ਗੁਣੀ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
sabh augan gunī mitāiā gur āpē bakhasanahār .2.
All their demerits are erased, and replaced with merits. The Guru Himself is their Forgiver. ||2||

Pauree:
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥
har kī bhagatā paratīt har sabh kish jānadā .
The Lord's devotees have faith in Him. The Lord knows everything.
ਹਰਿ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਰਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਦਾ ॥
har jēvad nāhī kōī jān har dharam bīchāradā .
No one is as great a Knower as the Lord; the Lord administers righteous justice.
ਕਾੜਾ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਕਿਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਧਰਮਿ ਮਾਰਦਾ ॥
kārā andēsā kiu kījai jā nāhī adharam māradā .
Why should we feel any burning anxiety, since the Lord does not punish without just cause?
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਆਉ ਪਾਪੀ ਨਰੁ ਹਾਰਦਾ ॥
sachā sāhib sach niāu pāpī nar hāradā .
True is the Master, and True is His Justice; only the sinners are defeated.
ਸਾਲਾਹਿਹੁ ਭਗਤਹੁ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਤਾਰਦਾ ॥੧੮॥
sālāhih bhagatah kar jōr har bhagat jan tāradā .18.
O devotees, praise the Lord with your palms pressed together; the Lord saves His humble devotees. ||18||
