Third Mehl:
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੀ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
sabad ratī sōhāganī satigur kai bhāi piār .
The happy soul-bride is attuned to the Word of the Shabad; she is in love with the True Guru.
ਸਦਾ ਰਾਵੇ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਚੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
sadā rāvē pir āpanā sachai prēm piār .
She continually enjoys and ravishes her Beloved, with true love and affection.
ਅਤਿ ਸੁਆਲਿਉ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
at suāliu sundarī sōbhāvantī nār .
She is such a loveable, beautiful and noble woman.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮੇਲੀ ਮੇਲਣਹਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
nānak nām sōhāganī mēlī mēlanahār .2.
O Nanak, through the Naam, the happy soul-bride unites with the Lord of Union. ||2||

Pauree:
ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਭ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਫਾਥੇ ਕਾਢਿਆ ॥
har tērī sabh karah usatat jin phāthē kādhiā .
Lord, everyone sings Your Praises. You have freed us from bondage.
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਭ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਪੈ ਤੇ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥
har tudhanō karah sabh namasakār jin pāpai tē rākhiā .
Lord, everyone bows in reverence to You. You have saved us from our sinful ways.
ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਡਾਢੀ ਹੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਡਾਢਿਆ ॥
har nimāniā tūn mān har dādhī hūn tūn dādhiā .
Lord, You are the Honor of the dishonored. Lord, You are the Strongest of the strong.
ਹਰਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਵਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂੜ ਸਾਧਿਆ ॥
har ahankārīā mār nivāē manamukh mūr sādhiā .
The Lord beats down the egocentrics and corrects the foolish, self-willed manmukhs.
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਅਨਾਥਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
har bhagatā dēi vadiāī garīb anāthiā .17.
The Lord bestows glorious greatness on His devotees, the poor, and the lost souls. ||17||

Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੈਲੀ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਕੁਲਖਣੀ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥
manamukh mailī kāmanī kulakhanī kunār .
The self-willed manmukh, the foolish bride, is a filthy, rude and evil wife.
ਪਿਰੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
pir shōdiā ghar āpanā par purakhai nāl piār .
Forsaking her Husband Lord and leaving her own home, she gives her love to another.
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੁਕਈ ਜਲਦੀ ਕਰੇ ਪੂਕਾਰ ॥
trisanā kadē n chukaī jaladī karē pūkār .
Her desires are never satisfied, and she burns and cries out in pain.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੁਰੂਪਿ ਕੁਸੋਹਣੀ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਛੋਡੀ ਭਤਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
nānak bin nāvai kurūp kusōhanī parahar shōdī bhatār .1.
O Nanak, without the Name, she is ugly and ungraceful. She is abandoned and left behind by her Husband Lord. ||1||
