Pauree:
ਹੁਕਮੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਭਿਤਿ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
hukamī srisat sājīan bah bhit sansārā .
By His Command, He created the creation, the world with its many species of beings.
ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਕੇਤੜਾ ਸਚੇ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
tērā hukam n jāpī kētarā sachē alakh apārā .
I do not know how great Your Command is, O Unseen and Infinite True Lord.
ਇਕਨਾ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
ikanā nō tū mēl laih gur sabad bīchārā .
You join some with Yourself; they reflect on the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
sach ratē sē niramalē haumai taj vikārā .
Those who are imbued with the True Lord are immaculate and pure; they conquer egotism and corruption.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੋਈ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ॥੨॥
jis tū mēlah sō tudh milai sōī sachiārā .2.
He alone is united with You, whom You unite with Yourself; he alone is true. ||2||

Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਸੂਹਬ ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ॥
sūhab tā sōhāganī jā mann laih sach nāu .
The red-robed woman becomes a happy soul-bride, only when she accepts the True Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈ ਰੂਪੁ ਚੜੀ ਤਾ ਅਗਲਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
satigur apanā manāi lai rūp charī tā agalā dūjā nāhī thāu .
Become pleasing to your True Guru, and you shall be totally beautified; otherwise, there is no place of rest.
ਐਸਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇ ਤੂ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਭਾਉ ॥
aisā sīgār banāi tū mailā kadē n hōvaī ahinis lāgai bhāu .
So decorate yourself with the decorations that will never stain, and love the Lord day and night.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਖਸਮੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
nānak sōhāgan kā kiā chihan hai andar sach mukh ujalā khasamai māh samāi .1.
O Nanak, what is the character of the happy soul-bride? Within her, is Truth; her face is bright and radiant, and she is absorbed in her Lord and Master. ||1||

mah 3 .
Third Mehl:
ਲੋਕਾ ਵੇ ਹਉ ਸੂਹਵੀ ਸੂਹਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਕਰੀ ॥
lōkā vē hau sūhavī sūhā vēs karī .
O people: I am in red, dressed in a red robe.
ਵੇਸੀ ਸਹੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਸ ਰਹੀ ॥
vēsī sah n pāīai kar kar vēs rahī .
But my Husband Lord is not obtained by any robes; I have tried and tried, and given up wearing robes.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣੀ ॥
nānak tinī sah pāiā jinī gur kī sikh sunī .
O Nanak, they alone obtain their Husband Lord, who listen to the Guru's Teachings.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੰਤ ਮਿਲੀ ॥੨॥
jō tis bhāvai sō thīai in bidh kant milī .2.
Whatever pleases Him, happens. In this way, the Husband Lord is met. ||2||
