ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੫॥
tribhavan sō prabh jānīai sāchō sāchai nāi .5.
God is known throughout the three worlds. True is the Name of the True One. ||5||
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਖਰੀ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
sā dhan kharī suhāvanī jin pir jātā sang .
The wife who knows that her Husband Lord is always with her is very beautiful.
ਮਹਲੀ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਈਐ ਸੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
mahalī mahal bulāīai sō pir rāvē rang .
The soul-bride is called to the Mansion of the His Presence, and her Husband Lord ravishes her with love.
ਸਚਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਸਾ ਭਲੀ ਪਿਰਿ ਮੋਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੬॥
sach suhāgan sā bhalī pir mōhī gun sang .6.
The happy soul-bride is true and good; she is fascinated by the Glories of her Husband Lord. ||6||
ਭੂਲੀ ਭੂਲੀ ਥਲਿ ਚੜਾ ਥਲਿ ਚੜਿ ਡੂਗਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
bhūlī bhūlī thal charā thal char dūgar jāu .
Wandering around and making mistakes, I climb the plateau; having climbed the plateau, I go up the mountain.
ਬਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੂਲੀ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਉ ॥
ban mah bhūlī jē phirā bin gur būjh n pāu .
But now I have lost my way, and I am wandering around in the forest; without the Guru, I do not understand.
ਨਾਵਹੁ ਭੂਲੀ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੭॥
nāvah bhūlī jē phirā phir phir āvau jāu .7.
If I wander around forgetting God's Name, I shall continue coming and going in reincarnation, over and over again. ||7||
ਪੁਛਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਧਾਊਆ ਚਲੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਹੋਇ ॥
pushah jāi padhāūā chalē chākar hōi .
Go and ask the travellers, how to walk on the Path as His slave.
ਰਾਜਨੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
rājan jānah āpanā dar ghar thāk n hōi .
They know the Lord to be their King, and at the Door to His Home, their way is not blocked.
ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੮॥੬॥
nānak ēkō rav rahiā dūjā avar n kōi .8.6.
O Nanak, the One is pervading everywhere; there is no other at all. ||8||6||

ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਾਧੀਐ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਕੀਚੈ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
jap tap sanjam sādhīai tīrath kīchai vās .
You may chant and meditate, practice austerities and self-restraint, and dwell at sacred shrines of pilgrimage;
ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਕਿਆ ਤਾਸੁ ॥
punn dān changiāīā bin sāchē kiā tās .
you may give donations to charity, and perform good deeds, but without the True One, what is the use of it all?
ਜੇਹਾ ਰਾਧੇ ਤੇਹਾ ਲੁਣੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਜਨਮੁ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
jēhā rādhē tēhā lunai bin gun janam vinās .1.
As you plant, so shall you harvest. Without virtue, this human life passes away in vain. ||1||
ਮੁੰਧੇ ਗੁਣ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
mundhē gun dāsī sukh hōi .
O young bride, be a slave to virtue, and you shall find peace.
ਅਵਗਣ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avagan tiāg samāīai guramat pūrā sōi .1. rahāu .
Renouncing wrongful actions, following the Guru's Teachings, you shall be absorbed into the Perfect One. ||1||Pause||
ਵਿਣੁ ਰਾਸੀ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਆ ਤਕੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਚਾਰਿ ॥
vin rāsī vāpārīā takē kundā chār .
Without capital, the trader looks around in all four directions.
ਮੂਲੁ ਨ ਬੁਝੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਰਹੀ ਘਰ ਬਾਰਿ ॥
mūl n bujhai āpanā vasat rahī ghar bār .
He does not understand his own origins; the merchandise remains within the door of his own house.
ਵਿਣੁ ਵਖਰ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਗਲਾ ਕੂੜਿ ਮੁਠੀ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ॥੨॥
vin vakhar dukh agalā kūr muthī kūriār .2.
Without this commodity, there is great pain. The false are ruined by falsehood. ||2||
ਲਾਹਾ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਨਉਤਨਾ ਪਰਖੇ ਰਤਨੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
lāhā ahinis nautanā parakhē ratan vīchār .
One who contemplates and appraises this Jewel day and night reaps new profits.
ਵਸਤੁ ਲਹੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਚਲੈ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
vasat lahai ghar āpanai chalai kāraj sār .
He finds the merchandise within his own home, and departs after arranging his affairs.
ਵਣਜਾਰਿਆ ਸਿਉ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
vanajāriā siu vanaj kar guramukh braham bīchār .3.
So trade with the true traders, and as Gurmukh, contemplate God. ||3||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
santānh sangat pāīai jē mēlē mēlanahār .
In the Society of the Saints, He is found, if the Uniter unites us.
ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
miliā hōi n vishurai jis antar jōt apār .
One whose heart is filled with His Infinite Light meets with Him, and shall never again be separated from Him.
ਸਚੈ ਆਸਣਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ॥੪॥
sachai āsan sach rahai sachai prēm piār .4.
True is his position; he abides in Truth, with love and affection for the True One. ||4||
ਜਿਨੀ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਸੁਥਾਇ ॥
jinī āp pashāniā ghar mah mahal suthāi .
One who understands himself finds the Mansion of the Lord's Presence within his own home.
ਸਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਸਚੋ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
sachē sētī ratiā sachō palai pāi .
Imbued with the True Lord, Truth is gathered in.
